Publications and Publicity
Introduction

The EWF Local 111 has generated external interest and has received a lot of publicity on an International scale. It has also produced or been involved with the production of several educational/informative publications.

TV Appearances
Channel 4 - 1982
The local participated in a T.V programme ‘Hear and now’ Channel 4. The talk show was about the EWF. The Public Relations officer participated on behalf of the local.
September 1983
The local business meeting was filmed by T.V Company from Brazil at Muntz St Community centre.
Channel 4 Documentary - July 1992
Members participated in a documentary called ‘The Centenary’ directed by Johnny Dollar in Ethiopia.
Radio
BBC World Service - July 1992
    Members gave interviews concerning the 100th Birthday of Emperor Haile Selassie 1 and the cancellation of planned memorial in Addis Ababa.

Newsletters 6 Issues

A series of 6 monthly issues was published by the local from Jan – Dec 2000.
Additionally a new series of newsletters were published by the local’s Women’s Auxiliary Unit. 1st issue was produced in May 2002. The Newsletter has enabled the WAU to network with other organizations and women’s group in Birmingham, London and Connecticut.

Demonstrations
1986
A Protest March was organized by the local at Royal Court Theatre. Sloane Square, London, against the incorrect depiction of H.I.M Haile Selassie I in the play called ‘The Emperor.’ This protest successfully stopped the play from been repeated.
