Moore
Oueen Mother Moore was a Black Civil Rights Activist
in the US and visited the local at Small Heath
Community Centre in 1982.

The local members met the Oxford
author of the best selling book: Haile Selassie’s
War. They also met Professor Robert Hill of UCLA, Ethiopia.
Rabbi Ford's
Wife
In 1993, the local
President whilst in Washington D.C met Mignon Lorraine
Innis Ford, wife of Rabbi Ford co-author of the Ethiopian
anthem and members of U.N.I.A. The couple had emigrated
from Barbados to USA and moved to Ethiopia in 1931 before
the outbreak of the Italian Ethiopian war. Although Rabbi
Ford died before the invasion, his wife remained in Ethiopia
during the Italian occupation. After which, she established
and run her own private school in Addis Ababa up until
her death in 1996. She was one of the principle minds
behind the creation of the EWF Inc.

Pioneers
Introduction
The local made
contact with the group of elders who had remained in
Ethiopia during the communist rule in Ethiopia 1974-91.
The Pioneers settlers were amongst the first to settle on
the land grant.
