General Fundraising
Introduction

The EWF Local 111 has from its earliest days involved itself in being creative in its attempts to raise funds for both its local and many other charitable causes.

1st Grand Raffle Ticket Draw - 1991
The first grand draw was held at the Porsche Club – Jan 7th 1991.
1st prize was a trip to Jamaica
Raffle Tickets Draw 1994 - 2000
Tickets were sold nationally at venues such as Glastonbury, Essential Festival, Womad, Jah Shaka dances etc. Winners have come from all parts of the U.K including Scotland, Brighton, and London.

International Raffle 1995
The local participated in a joint raffle with other locals and groups in New York, Connecticut, Martinique, Dominica, Paris and London. The Local sold the largest number of tickets. 1st prize was a trip to Wonde Gennet, Ethiopia.
Rwanda Appeal
Organized by the African Caribbean Self Help Organization 104 Heathfiled Rd, Handsworth, Birmingham. Members participated in the fund raising activities.
Sponsored Walk Sept 1986
John – O – Groats to Lands End, Scotland
Organized by Kennington London local. Participants came mostly from the London and Birmingham Locals.

Goodwill International Sound System
The local’s sound system Goodwill International played at dances cultural shows, fundraising dances, clash dances and social events. Listed are just a few of the shows/dances:
SEPT 1985 - A day excursion on the Royal Iris to Blackpool then unto Liverpool for dance
V.Rocket (Liverpool) vs Goodwill (England)
DEC 1985 - Woman's Kenya mission sending off party. Goodwill Sparkbrook. Birmingham
DEC 1985- Goodwill in Paris – 1st time in Europe.
April 1986 – Jah Shaka meets Goodwill. Venue: MFM Club. Northampton
June 1986 - 2nd Africa mission send off. Fundraising – King and Prophet celebration session.
1987 Goodwill International plays at Muhammad Ali Centre: live on stage: Ini Kamoze, Papa San and Lady Patra
JULY 23 1987 – Jah Light Celebration – Hummingbird. Maccabee, Natural Ites, Israel Movement and Goodwill International.

JUNE 1990 - Goodwill becomes Porsche Club’s resident Sound, playing with other Sound Systems from near and far.
March 4th 1991 – ‘Clash of the Gorgons.’ Sir Coxsone meets Goodwill International.
March 25th 1991 - Asha World Movement.

Goodwill International Sound System Award 1987
The sound system won an award from the Hummingbird’s 1st Annual Black Music Award in 1987 for Best HI –Fi sound
